Editor's note: Nowadays, Chinese achievements have attracted worldwide attention. As the world's second-biggest economy, we are going forward to the center of the world stage. Many foreigners who are living in China have witnessed not only the development of China, but the happiness rooted from the sustainable development of the economy, technology, society, culture and so on. Good living in China, the special reports for the 20th CPC National Congress, focuses on those foreign friends from all walks of society. They will tell you why they choose to stay here.

“中国是一片神奇的土地，每一个地方都有特色和优势。”奥地利人斯蒂芬·欧宁格来中国7年，去过很多城市，他眼里的中国有趣而包容。

“China is a magical land in which every city has its own features and advantages.”Stefan says. Stefan Auernig , comes from Austria, has been in China for 7 years and visited many cities. He thinks China is a charming country .

斯蒂芬把他来到中国的机缘，归结于两个字“缘分”。

Stefan insists on that staying in China was what fate had in store for him.

斯蒂芬有一个比他大十多岁的姐姐，还有一个双胞胎哥哥。姐姐很喜欢中国，第一次来度假回去后，跟两个弟弟绘声绘色地讲述了在中国的奇妙经历，高速发展的城市，朴实的乡村，可爱的人以及地道的美食，在这里，她感到安全和舒适……这些统统勾起了兄弟俩强烈的好奇心，中国对他们的吸引力一天比一天增强。

Stefan has a sister and a twin brother. His sister,more than ten years older than him，likes China very much. After coming back from her first vacation, she told her two brothers about the wonderful experience in China, including the rapidly development of cities, the lovely villages, the friendly people and the delicious food. She felt safe and comfortable here. All of these lead to the brothers' increasingly curiosity about China.

后来，斯蒂芬在大学选修了中文课，并且在自己国家通过了中文测试。

Because of the desire for China,Stefan learned Chinese as the optional course and passed the Chinese test in his country.

2015年，29岁的斯蒂芬和他的双胞胎哥哥，一起来到中国。哥哥去了北京发展，他则去到广东的一个小城市，在一家制造盾构机的公司工作。

In 2015, Stefan came to China with his twin brother, but they have different choice about where to stay in China. Stefan has chose to work in a company that manufactures shield machines in a small city, Guangdong province. Meanwhile, his brother has settled down in Beijing.

如今，36岁的斯蒂芬已在中国待了7年。这期间，他去了上海，在一家德国公司工作。直到两年前，他有一个来到楚天科技股份有限公司旗下德国ROMACO集团工作的机会。于是，他来到了长沙宁乡，成为该集团长沙运营中心的负责人。

Now, Stefan has been in China for seven years. During this period, he has get the chance to work in a German company in Shanghai. Two years ago, Stefan has received a invitation to join the German ROMACO Group of Truking as the head of the Changsha operation center .

在他眼里，上海是一座现代化的大都市，经济发达，机会多，甚至有很多奥地利人在那边发展。而长沙则比较符合他想象中中国的样子，很古老，有很多寺庙，有深厚的人文历史感，有特色美食，辣的火锅和烧烤是他的最爱，长沙是斯蒂芬非常喜欢的城市类型。

In his opinion, Shanghai is a modern metropolis with developed economy and many opportunities. More Austrians will choose Shanghai to develop themselves. Changsha, on the other hand, is more in line with his vision of China. It is a ancient city with rich cultural heritage.There are many local snacks which can not be found in other places. Hot pot and BBQ are his favorite. Changsha is the kind of city that Stefan likes very much.

中国的交通和软件技术，更让斯蒂芬叹为观止。“如果想去哪里，在手机上叫个‘滴滴’，还有外卖，‘饿了吗’‘美团’，都非常方便。在欧洲，没有那么快那么好的服务。”在聊天中，他特别提到了中国的高铁，以前他喜欢坐飞机，觉得快捷舒适，但是高铁的普及，让他感受到有比飞机更好的服务，现在他出行优先选择高铁。

China's transportation and software technology have impressed Stefan. “If you want to go somewhere, 'Didi', a car-hailing apps, will give you a taxi as soon as possible. If you are hungry,‘Are you hungry’or‘Meituan’,food delivery apps, will bring the delicious dishes to you within 30 minutes. In Europe, these are seems to be impossible.”He specifically mentioned Chinese high-speed railway. Before the popularization of high-speed railway, he was likely to travel by plane and felt it fast and comfortable, but now he preferred to high-speed railway.

对于“二十大”，斯蒂芬也有些许了解。“这是一个非常好的事情，以后中国会越来越好。”

Stefan also knows about the 20th CPC National Congress. “This Congress will make China better and better.”Stefan says.
